The webMethods Integration Platform is designed for use by integration specialists. While a background in Java programming is helpful, most integrations can be developed using Flow, our graphical scripting language. All that is required to use Flow is knowledge of standard programming constructs, such as try-catch, looping, switches, if-then-else, etc. Familiarity with data standards, such as JSON and XML, and an understanding of communication protocols, like HTTP/S and SFTP, are also useful, but again, not necessary as most of the “heavy lifting” is done using built-in services and listeners.

The free trial comes with the platform core comprised of the Integration Server, Terracotta, and Universal Messaging. It also includes adapters for JDBC and SAP and Cloudstreams for integrating with SaaS applications. For B2B, the free trial also comes with Trading Networks, the EDI modules, and Active Transfer for managed file transfers. Lastly, MashZone NextGen is supplied for data visualization.
